We are delighted to share with you a new yarn that's been in the making for a couple of years. I dreamed of a luxury fiber blend that has the look of handspun, the softness of camel, the luxury of silk, and that has the colors softly blending and changing throughout the fabric. We work with a mill to create a special blend of Merino/Camel/Silk that we dye in the fiber and then send to another mill that spins it to our specifications. It has taken us a while to get it right where we want it, but we couldn't be more pleased with the result.
Black Label yarn is sold only by yardage because due to the hand-milled process, there is always a bit of difference in the weight of each skein; however, each skein can be worked as a fingering to almost sport weight. My favorite way to use this yarn is in colorwork where I use a solid color background (usually in our Indulgence Yarn) and then use the Black Label yarn as the pattern. The way the Black Label yarn changes color throughout makes it look like I've used lots of different skeins of colors. So fun!
Even though each skein is unique, we keep the variations between skeins very slight, so feel free to order a sweater's quantity and know that every skein will work well in your project.
Peridot is part of our Birthstone series and will only be dyed in August. Once it is gone we won't be dyeing it again until next year.
