"Heathered" rovings are made of both white and brown BFL wool that is combined into stripes that run lengthwise throughout the roving.  

BFL is short for Blue Faced Leicester but it is not short in wonderful qualities. It is an extremely soft and lustrous wool that makes the most beautiful yarn. If you have used BFL before, you know what I'm talking about--if not, you are in for a treat!  BFL will felt nicely.
