Zaftig Tee Sweater KAL
Hello everyone and welcome to our very first official Knit-Along! We know recent times have been stressful as we have been adjusting to keeping ourselves and others safe by self-isolating. As some have said, we who knit have been preparing for this all our lives. We can take this time to keep our fingers and minds busy while creating beautiful things. This is why we decided to begin this KAL now.
Ever hopeful, we can knit right now and when we emerge from our homes this spring, we will have a beautiful sweater to wear.
I am totally excited that Sheila of Knitorious SHE has joined us in sharing her pattern and expertise in leading us in the Zaftig Tee Sweater KAL. This is a fabulous light-weight sweater with a beautiful drape. It has a very cute lace panel in front and is the perfect project for learning lace knitting. I love the shaping under the cap sleeves to the body as it seamlessly comes together. It comes in two lengths, a cropped version and a regular length version.
Best of all? It is VERY size inclusive. It comes in sizes XS-6XL!
Sheila will be helping us every inch of the way (literally) by giving us a timeline, answering questions, and posting short video tutorials. We will email you instructions on how to join our private Facebook Group where you may view the tutorials, ask questions, and post pictures of your progress. It is our goal for you to be successful and love your new sweater.
Sound fun? Of course it does!

Yarn
Which, brings me to talk about yarn--my favorite subject! What type of dyed yarn will work best for the Zaftig Tee? Semi-Solid? Tonal? Variegated? Actually, one of the reasons why I like this sweater so much is that the clean lines and simplicity of the design really lends itself to all types of yarns.
If you really want to highlight the lace panel, Semi-Solid is your best choice. By having a yarn that is pretty much one color, the stitch work in the lace panel really shines. You will be able to see each little stitch and hole in this beautiful panel. You can see how effective this is in the Seafoam sweater.
I'm a bit partial to our Tonal yarn. It is pretty much get the best the of both worlds. It gives a unique color patterning to the body of the sweater, but not so much that it overwhelms the lace panel. Our tonal yarns will give a similar effect as this orchid sweater shown below.
Last of all is our Variegated and Speckled yarns. These yarns will really make a statement in the body of the sweater by showing off a unique random patterning of color. Depending on the colorway chosen, the lace panel may or may not be seen as much. For instance, if you choose a colorway that has less contrast in colors, such as Calypso, the lace panel will show up better than a colorway like Hawaii with greater contrast of colors.
Please know that our yarn colors and quantities are limited, so please choose quickly.
We hope you will join us in this KAL. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to knitting with you and creating something beautiful.
